What do Beta Readers do?
You read an early version of the book, critique, and give honest feedback on:
- What made you laugh (or cry-snort)
- What confused you or didn’t feel quite right
- What made you scream “KISS HER ALREADY!”
- And anything else that helps me make the story the best it can be including flagging any grammar issues, repetitive words, plot holes, etc. Beta readers are my "second" set of eyes before turn it over the the ARC team. Betas are my core people, my author family. 💕

Q: Do I need any special skills to be a beta reader?
Nope! You just need to love books, an appreciation for well-written stories, and a commitment to helping an author produce the best written product as possible. Our goal is the same. Bring great stories to the readers who are waiting for them. That’s it. You’re qualified!
Q: What kind of feedback do you want?
Think of it like chatting with a friend over coffee (or wine). What did you love? What confused you? What made you laugh, cry, swoon, or roll your eyes? I’m looking for real reactions and helpful insights at any level that you're comfortable focusing on. Are you a grammar geek? Spill it! Comma queen? I'll spend an hour discussion the debate over oxford commas with you over wine for an hour. Plot holes, tricky wording, etc. Call me out (with love!).
Q: Is there a deadline?
Yep—but don’t worry, I’ll give you a timeline ahead so you can decide if it fits your schedule. I know life gets messy (I write messy), so I’m flexible—but communication is key!
Q: What if I hate the hero? Or the ending? Or the dog’s name?
Tell me! I want real reactions—even if they’re spicy. Not every character will resonate. But I'm a big girl. Just be kind, and I promise to take your feedback like a professional (and only cry into my wine a little).
